About this site
Goals of this site
For officials: To have a resource of videos to help create more consistency on calls and improve training.
For coaches: To have a resource of videos to understand what to expect on the field.
The Videos:
In an effort to get the highest definition videos available, a mix of college and high school video clips will be found on this site. However, for our purposes the calls discussed are for NFHS high school play.
How to slow down the videos
On the youtube video you will see a little gear icon on the bottom right. Click that gear icon and then select “playback speed”. If you can’t see the gear icon, click on the full screen button to make the video go full screen (the little square button on the far bottom right), and then the gear icon should appear.
Engage and Ask Questions
You can leave comments to ask questions or start a discussion. To comment on a video, click on the title of the post just above the video.
Important category
Videos found in this category need clarification, are special cases, up for debate or should beckon your attention for some other reason.
Refs & Players in the videos
Any comments or dialogue about the videos are meant to be a tool to become better officials. No disrespect or negative criticism is meant to any ref or player in the videos. Officiating and playing in real-time at game speed is incredibly difficult and this website is to help us learn and improve and not belittle or judge any player or ref in any of the video clips on this site.
Game Level
Some videos will have a “Game Level” note. This is to help educate when the call may be different based on the skill level of the game, the intensity of the game, and other factors that might otherwise cause a ref to make a different ruling.
